Katsumi Sakurai ("we") sets out below how the iOS / Android app "Minna de Game" and its web version (the "App") handle information about users.
The App lets people who gather in person — nearby players, or players who join with a QR code or room code — play the same game, each on their own phone. To run the games, our server (Amazon Web Services, Tokyo region) handles the information below. There are no accounts, and we never collect your real name, email address, phone number, contacts or photos.
| Information | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Player name (a name you type in) | Shown to the other players in the same room | Expires 24 hours after the last activity in the room, then deleted automatically |
| A random ID created by the App | To confirm that a request comes from a member of the room (stored on your device; it does not identify you) | Same as the room data |
| Game data (cards, plays, hints and answers you enter) | To run the game | Same as the room data |
| Location (only when you use "Play with people nearby" and allow it) | To find people nearby who have the same screen open. Other users only see your player name and an approximate distance, never your coordinates | Expires after about 2 minutes, then deleted automatically |
| IP address | To stop repeated guessing of room codes | Expires after about 20 minutes, then deleted automatically |
The camera is used only to scan QR codes. Images are never stored or sent.
Your player name and the hints or answers you enter in a game are shown to the players in the same room. With "Play with people nearby", your player name is shown to users nearby. Inappropriate words are masked automatically, and the host of a room can remove players from it. If you see an inappropriate name or text, please contact us at the address below and include the room code.
The App (iOS / Android) uses Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service. To deliver ads, measure their performance and prevent fraud, AdMob may automatically collect information such as:
| Type | Details |
|---|---|
| Advertising identifiers | IDFA and identifiers issued by AdMob |
| Device information | Device model, OS version, language, screen size, etc. |
| Approximate region | Country or region estimated from the IP address |
| Ad interactions | Ad impressions, taps, etc. |
This information is collected and used by Google; we do not receive it directly. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. The web version shows no ads.
On first launch the App may show Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. Only if you choose "Allow" is the advertising identifier used to show ads tailored to your interests (personalized ads). If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", non-personalized ads are shown and every feature of the App remains available. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent form through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) about the use of data for advertising. You can change your choice at any time from "広告のプライバシー設定" (Ad privacy settings) on the App's home screen.
The App is not designed for children under 13.
We may change this policy because of changes in law or new features of the App. Important changes will be announced on this page.
